Detailed Information
Main Objective
- To work with key management to manage and control the accounting, finance and administration functions within Sepam for one of our BEU (Business Earning Unit).
- Be a proactive team leader and manager in pursuing the overall development of the BEU in line with its mission, objectives and core values.
Ensures a strong and capable structure of professional financial personnel are put in place to meet the growth requirements of the BEU and to make the necessary contributions that will enable the BEU to deliver a good return on investment for capital employed with minimum risk. - Develops and implements the necessary finance and administration systems and procedures to ensure the efficient management of the company’s funds, assets and resources.
- Provides top management relevant, accurate and timely financial data from which management decisions can be based.
Areas of Responsibility
- Management and control of the BEU’s financial resources.
Specific Objectives
Development of Group
- Together with the BEU Manager and other members of the Corporate Finance team, formulates and develops the BEU’s strategies, plans and objectives.
- Prepares annual budget of the BEU; prepares monthly income & expense statements; and prepares monthly receivables and payables.
- Builds and trains a strong, experienced, professional and capable team both in finance and administration.
- Coordinates and provides support to BEU Manager in ensuring that they have the funds and resources as they need them.
Structuring and Cost Control
- Works with the other members of the team and advisors to develop and implement a sound system and procedures in complying with the legal and tax requirements of the BEU in each location in which it operates.
- Develop and implement a reporting system for the activities of new ventures / businesses.
- Ensures that all business operations in various locations are meeting statutory requirements.
Asset Management
- Ensures that all assets are identified, controlled, monitored and reported on a regular basis.
- Sets up the necessary reporting system to ensure the optimization of the utilization of all company resources.
Financial Management & Control
- Implements strictly company financial guidelines, policies and standard operating procedures.
- Develops and submits financial and cost reports on a timely basis that will meet management’s requirements.
- Develops and implements an effective and efficient treasury management system to ensure maximum return on capital.
- Liaises and develops good working relationship with the company’s banks, auditors and legal advisors.
- Generates accurate and timely financial reports required by top management.
Finance and Administration Systems
- Develops, implements and manages the financial systems and procedures, with particular emphasis on cost control and return maximization.
- Provides top management with accurate and timely analysis of financial data.
- Submits to top management accurate and timely financial reports on a regular basis.
Treasury
- Manages the cashflow of the BEU; maximizing returns and minimizing costs.
- Ensures that funds are available when they are needed; and
- Prepares forecasts of cash requirements vis-à-vis inflow of cash.
Reporting to
- The BEU Finance Manager reports to the CFO and BEU Manager.
